Cute Pulpit Shoes

On Sunday, a member of our choir was wearing green pumps. They were cute. I'm sure they have been in her closet longer than I have been alive -- but they were cute. They matched her green suit which could not be seen under her choir robe.

Since Sunday, I've been thinking about how fun it would be to wear shoes for each liturgical season. I don't wear green but this might be fun for the summer -- and it appears that this is a style right now. I wonder if anyone does this. Do you match your stole with your shoes? Any suggestions?

As soon as I get my own church (I graduated seminary but don't have a call yet), I'm going do conduct a service in my bare feet. That'll be my fashion statement!

when i was on my internship, i purchased a pair of blue Pumas just for fun. i was wearing them at a function at church one evening during Advent (which is liturgically blue in the Lutheran church) and a couple of the high schoolers commented on my shoes. I told them they were my Advent shoes. My supervising pastor said that I should wear them during the worship service that Sunday. So I did and they were a big hit. So I bought red, purple and green ones, as well and wore them every Sunday. This was now 2+ years ago and members of my internship congregation STILL talk about it. My current senior pastor, however, has yet to agree to let me wear them to a service. Apparently, he's a stick in the mud.

I always wear red shoes for pentacost, but that's it. I'd love green shoes, but it might bore me to wear them for that many weeks....

What you need are different shades of green: spring, kelly, olive, autumn fadey I don't know what it's called but you know what I mean.

I do well to find a grown-up-looking pair of black heels in my size. Pretty colors are beyond my reach.
