Puking for Jesus

They say that you should feel awed and overwhelmed when approaching ordination. I have been told this a couple of times as I have expressed my anxiety about Sunday's events. But, should I be puking?

I finally made it to my parent's house yesterday. We went out for a family dinner to celebrate my father's birthday. The food was wonderful, though I admit a little rich. But, is that why I couldn't sleep last night? I slept for about 4 hours last night. And in the middle of those four hours, I woke up to vomit. Maybe it was the rich food. But, something tells me it's really my nerves. So, three days before I'm ordained, I'm puking for Jesus.

Gross.

I can't put my finger on just why, but your story reminds me of a saying I heard in church once. I remember the priest saying that everyone should sing in church -- because if you have a beautiful voice, you can glorify God with it...and if you have a horrendous voice, you can get back at Him for giving it to you!

Not exactly sure how that applies to, say, puking...but somehow it feels like there must be a connection. Hmm...

Peace, joy, and blessings to you on the occasion of your ordination.

ordinations involve puking. at least mine did.

probably 45 minutes to an hour before my ordination I left the church to get something from my house across the street and ended up puking in my front lawn.

it was awesome.

Try a little Pepsi. And breathe as deeply as you can. God is in your breath, if not in the carbonation.

Congratulations on achieving this milestone and good luck with getting the puking under control. Something tells me it will pass and you will be a fine pastor.

I had a cool prof in seminary who said that he puked every Sunday morning for 6 months when he was at his first call. The HS moves in all kinds of ways!
